Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento
Ashton Blaise Whitty (born October 1, 1995, in Berkeley California) is an actress. Her work includes actress for Choices (2010). The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2007) as well as Chrissie mayr's Content House 2022.
Asia Argento was raised in Rome by an acting and film-making family. Both professions she pursued herself. The Church, directed by Michele Soavi, was her first role. Red Wood Pigeon, the film she appeared in as Nanni Moretti's daughter was released a year later. But it came from Close Friends by Michele Placido which saw Asia's acting career take off. Dario Argento's Phantom of the Opera is the third film she's made with her father, other films being Trauma as well as The Stendhal Syndrome Asia's absorbed, intense style of acting was well-used in Giuseppe Piccioni's Condannato, a nozze . The role she played as Arianna in the film Perdiamoci by Carlo Verdone di vista, which focuses on a physically disabled girl, was a challenging and complex role that brought it the David di Donatello award for best actress. The film also featured her in a major part in Queen Margot, directed by Patrice Cereau. In 1995 she worked together with Michel Piccoli on Peter Del Monte's Compagna di viaggio. This collaboration earned her the David di Donatello prize and an award called a Grolla oro. Asia started her short film directing career in 1994. She also produced an episode of the film De Generazione. 1996 saw her make a documentary along with her dad. 1998 she directed AbelAsia which was a film about legendary director Abel Ferrara. This film was awarded a prize at the Rome Film Festival. In 1999, Asia began her film-directing career by directing Scarlet Diva in which she was the main actress as well as the writer of the screenplay. The film was released in May 2000 across Italy as well as around the world. It was honored with an award in Brooklyn during the Williamsburg International Film Festival.
